Sanjiv Navangul has led global pharmaceutical companies to success by mentoring and cultivating a values-driven culture. He has served on the board of Johnson & Johnson Pvt Ltd. India and Fulford India. He has held several leadership roles, including those of Managing Director for Janssen (Pharmaceutical Division of Johnson & Johnson) in India and South Asia; Managing Director for MSD Pharmaceuticals, Philippines; and Commercial Director for MSD India and South Asia. He served as the Vice President of OPPI (Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India) from 2014 to 2019 and was Chairman of the AMCHAM Pharma committee (American Chamber of Commerce) from 2016 to 2019.

Under his leadership, BSV has been ranked 41st amongst Top Companies by AIOCD AWACS in Sept 2020 and one of the Top 10 Biopharma Companies in India (Biospectrum & ABLE).

In 2022, Sanjiv was awarded CEO of the Year at the 8th ILSC Awards. In 2021, he was honored with the Maharashtra Achievers Awards for his outstanding contribution to healthcare and pharma. And in 2020, he was recognized as one of Asia's top 25 healthcare technology CEOs by The Healthcare Technology CEOs of Asia. Sanjiv is a recipient of a number of industry awards on Public Health, Marketing and Diversity. Recently he was recognized as "Impactful CEO of the Year 2023" by The Economic Times.

Pankaj Patwari is a Non-Executive Director w.e.f. February 07, 2020. He is a Chartered Accountant by training and holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (Lucknow).

As Director - Advent India PE Advisors Private Limited, he has been managing Advent's investments in Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited from 2014 apart from Manjushree Technopack Limited, QuEST Global and BSV. He has also been a Director at Manjushree Technopack Limited and Gokaldas Intimatewear Private Limited.

Having worked with Bain Capital for six years, Pankaj has worked on several transactions in the pharmaceutical and industrial sectors. Prior to his stint at Bain, Pankaj spent four years with McKinsey & Co., focusing primarily on financial services.

Shweta Jalan is a Non-Executive Director w.e.f. February 07, 2020. She has been associated with Advent India PE Advisors Private Limited (Advent) as Managing Director since 2009.

Before joining Advent, she worked with ICICI Venture, the largest private equity firm in India then. Prior to that, she had spent a year with the corporate finance division of Ernst & Young. She is also a Director at ASK Investment Managers Private Limited, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited, Dixcy Textiles Private Limited, Manjushree Technopack Limited and QuEST.

Shweta has experience in sourcing and negotiating transactions and has worked across a wide range of sectors including industrial, media, business services to IT/BPO. She also offers her counsel on managing investments and planning successful exits, viz. sale to strategic buyers and the listing of companies.

Bhaskar Iyer is an independent director w.e.f. February 07, 2020. He is a strategic business leader with over four decades of experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry spanning country management, global leadership and Board Directorship roles.

Since 2007 he has been managing teams comprising of Managing Directors and Function Heads and in the last role at Abbott India, the leading healthcare company in India, he managed a team of 12000 employees and a turnover of a billion US dollars. Bhaskar currently works as an Operating Partner at Advent International in a specialist advisory capacity. Prior to that, he was a Corporate Officer with Abbott for the India region, leading sales, manufacturing and R&D operations.

He has also held global leadership positions for Wockhardt in India, AstraZeneca in Asia-Pacific based in Singapore and country management positions in AstraZeneca, Nicholas Piramal India Limited, ICI Pharmaceuticals and senior roles in Glaxo India Limited.Bhaskar is also an Operating Advisor at a healthcare-focussed Private Equity firm, Quadria Capital.

Jayesh Merchant is an independent director w.e.f. on February 07, 2020. He is a qualified chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a qualified company secretary from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and has a law degree and bachelor of commerce degree from Mumbai University. Jayesh retired from Asian Paints Limited in November, 2019 after a long stint of 17 years.

He was the Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary, Compliance Officer and President of Industrial Joint Ventures. He was a member of the management board / executive council which supervised the operations of the company.He was overseeing the Industrial and Automotive Joint Ventures with PPG Limited, the largest coatings company in the world, and was actively involved in strategy and execution of the Joint Ventures.

He was also involved with the Asian Paints’ international business and was the chairman of the holding company before retirement. Prior to joining Asian Paints Limited in 2002, he has worked in leadership roles in finance, legal, company secretarial and general management in the manufacturing and service industries namely, Castrol (India) Limited, Ion Exchange (India) Limited and UTV Limited.

During his career span of 37 years, Jayesh specialized in corporate governance and compliances, working capital and treasury management, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property rights with a strong background on accounting, tax, legal and cost controls. He is highly respected in the corporate world and has been named BW Business World’s ‘Best CFO in the Sustained Wealth Creation’ category in 2012 and 2017. The compliance and legal team under his leadership won the Legal Era ‘Corporate Governance Excellence Award’ in 2018-2019. He currently serves as an independent director and chairman of the audit committee in Manjushree Technopack Limited and Bharat Serums and Vaccines Limited (BSV).

Abhijit Mukherjee is an independent director w.e.f. February 07, 2020. A chemical engineer from IIT-Kharagpur, he superannuated from Dr. Reddy’s in March 2018 after playing varied senior roles there for 15 years; the last stint at Dr. Reddy’s was as COO from 2014 to 2018.

Prior to that, he had worked with Hindustan Lever for 13 years and with Atul Products Ltd. for nine years. He is currently an Operating Partner at Advent International. He has been involved in two of Advent’s acquisitions. Apart from serving on the board of Bharat Serums and Vaccines Limited (BSV), Abhijit is also on the board of ICE in Milan, Italy and Slayback, a company incorporated in New Jersey, USA.

Rahul Adakmol is a visionary leader with over 15 years of experience in specialty drugs, P&L management, BD, and licensing.

He brings a pioneering perspective to our commercial and business operations subsidiaries in Germany and the Philippines, as well as our global BD and M&A.

Alok is a seasoned sales professional and a versatile leader with diverse leadership experience of over three decades. He has been serving the industry as a growth catalyst and is recognized for his agility to adapt business models in response to market demands. Alok has a proven track record of successful collaboration with multiple stakeholders and key decision makers. He has managed multiple countries & multi-cultural Global/Regional teams in Pharmaceutical/ Biotechnology industry with P&L responsibility for India, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Sri Lanka and Nepal. Prior to BSV, Alok has held leadership positions in esteemed pharmaceutical organizations such as Cadila and Sanofi. Alok is passionate about developing talent and inspiring teams to perform by creating a culture of coaching and mentorship.

Vishwanath Swarup is a results-oriented leader with fast-paced business skills. His experience in operations, strategic planning, corporate development, and sales management makes him a key leader of our team. His dedicated efforts have helped BSV bag multiple awards, including ‘Outstanding Technology Product or Service for BSVwithU’ by Quantic twice in 2022, ‘AntiD’ being recognized as one of the ‘Best Healthcare brands 2022' by ET. Dr. Jaby Jacob has worked at several large companies, including Kemwell Biopharma, Dr. Reddy’s and AMGEN before joining BSV.

He is an active participant in the development of several biopharmaceutical products, including monoclonal antibodies. He has over two decades of experience in developing biosimilar drug strategies for both regulated and emerging markets, including process characterization, analytical development and validation, and technology transfer management.

Nilesh Kulkarni is a seasoned human resources leader with over two decades of experience in L&D, recruitment, mergers and acquisitions, organization design, succession, and talent management. He has held various leadership positions in India, South Asia, and Switzerland. From being an organization driven by function, Nilesh is instrumental in making BSV an organization that’s driven by talent. His acumen has helped BSV get recognized as ‘Best Organization for Women’ by The Economic Times in 2022, ‘Best Sustainable Business Organisation’ by ET Edge in 2022, and ‘Dream Companies to Work For’ by the World HRD Congress-Feb 2019.

Chirag has previously worked with Cipla, Maneesh Pharma, and Intas Pharmaceuticals.

Chirag Mehta brings over two decades of experience in Finance and Operations Management, including Corporate Accounting, National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), Commercial, Legal, and Central Data Management. His experience and willingness to help and motivate others has been instrumental in the success we’ve had since he joined.

He was most recently recognized by CEO Insights as one of the Top 10 CFOs of 2022.

Anjan Ghosh brings a wealth of experience in Operations and Strategy. He brings over 3 decades of experience in the APAC (including Japan, Australia, and New Zealand) region, having worked in different roles and responsibilities like P&L management, SFE, and managing mergers and integrations of organizations. His strategic thinking combined with his deep industry knowledge makes him an ideal member of the BSV team as it evolves in this rapidly changing landscape.

His immense contribution has led BSV to earn four awards in 2022, including – ‘Innovation in Learning’ & ‘Business impact through Learning and Development’ at the 8th Edition Future of Work Summit and Awards 2022 and ‘Outstanding Achievement in Digital Pharma Marketing’ & ‘Outstanding Achievement in Digital Pharma Marketing for L&D Team’ at Digipharmax.

Dr. Swashraya Shah has a strong background in the medical field, with a track record of success in strategic planning, team development, coaching, medico-marketing, clinical research, and regulatory sciences. A seasoned medical professional, he is skilled in identifying key challenges and implementing innovative solutions that have resulted in measurable growth and positive outcomes for companies he has worked with over the years.

Anil Damle has over 30 years of experience in Treasury and Risk Management, Statutory/Internal/Forensic/SOX audits, and Compliance Execution and Training. In particular, he has a strong understanding of treasury operations in a complex global environment with multiple regulatory regimes.

His contribution has helped BSV win multiple accolades, which include – ‘Best Pharma Distribution Network Strategy’ (TATA Strategic Management Group & CNBC TV18, Feb 2018), ‘Best In-Class Distribution Network Strategy’ award at the Future Supply Chain (7th Cold Chain Strategy Summit, June 2018), and ‘Best Procurement Company of the Year’ Award (IPLA 2022).
